Disc dryers are suitable for drying granular, as well as spontaneous running welds in humid conditions.
Typical applications for the system include mud, animal meal, bio fuels, etc..
The system dries the welds by contact with the aid of a rotating, heated disc rotor. The raw materials are pushed in the dryer in the direction of exit from the raw material entrance. The outlet is fitted with a pneumatic blade sliding valve. The fugitive vapor is evacuated and condensed. The resulting water-insoluble gases are removed. The condensate can continue to be used thermally with heat exchangers (typically at 70 - 90 °C atmospheric). As heating material, saturated steam or thermal oil with high temperature is generally used.
The heating element flows through the rotor, discs and optionally a heating jacket.
The disc dryers are distinguished by their compact design and high heat transfer rates (85 to 300 W/m2K).
The criteria for choosing the right design are now far beyond purely functional features. The only decisive factor for the quality of the dryer system is not the basic suitability for the process. First of all, attention should be paid to design details that are important for hygiene standards, easy cleanability and rapid adaptability to products with different production conditions.
Thus, design and production are always carried out exclusively by the customer.
